Airport weather warning for wind gusting to greater than 30 mph
for the Salt Lake City International Airport.

Valid 927 PM to 100 am MDT.

South winds at 15 to 20 mph with gusts over 30 mph will continue
until about 11 PM this evening before shifting to the northwest at
similar speeds until 1 am Monday.

A cold front is marching through northwest Utah as of 1015 PM. Strong northwest winds have developed behind this front over the west deserts and the northern Wasatch front. Winds have been gusting over 50 mph across the Salt Flats and over 40 mph along the Wasatch front. The cold front will reach the Salt Lake City area shortly before 11 PM and then reach Utah County by midnight. The strong northwest winds are expected to blow for two to three hours behind the front then diminish. Speeds in the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys will approach 50 mph while speeds in Utah County could exceed 50 mph.
